Building a brighter future for our students

I am seeking re-election to the Board of Education because of my unwavering commitment to our students and the future of our district.
During my current term, I've worked diligently to elevate student achievement, respond to community concerns, and support the dedicated staff who make our schools thrive. Yet, there is still much work to be done.
As outlined in my initial statement, my top goals remain twofold.
First, we need to set higher expectations and ensure that every student—regardless of their learning level—receives the support they need to succeed.
Second, we must strengthen college and post-secondary preparation. Our high school students deserve comprehensive guidance and resources—not just for college, but for all post-graduation pathways.
If re-elected, I will continue to champion the following:
I remain deeply committed to fostering a district where every student feels seen, supported, and prepared for the future.
Thank you for your continued trust.

My inspiration to run for re-election to the Berkeley Heights Board of Education is deeply personal and rooted in our community.
I'm running again because I believe in providing students and parents with educational and career choices.
My 35-year career as a special education teacher, including 22 years here in Berkeley Heights, taught me that not all students learn the same way.
I saw the power of individualized education and the importance of supporting every child.
Our district must strengthen vocational and career programs to ensure every student, regardless of their path, has the tools to succeed.
My primary goal if re-elected is to partner with our community to successfully navigate the Berkeley Heights School District's current transitional phase.
I am committed to assisting in this rebuilding period by lending my experience to the following efforts:
My most important goal is to ensure the Berkeley Heights School District emerges stronger from this period of rebuilding.
If re-elected, I will work diligently to move the district forward.

I am a high school teacher with a PhD in chemistry and I have two children currently attending school at Hughes and Columbia.
The excellent reputation of Berkeley Heights public schools was a major factor in our decision to move here.
Over the past three years, I have seen our district weakened by a dysfunctional board plagued by several members who seem to care more about infighting than fulfilling their proper roles.
Relatively minor issues occupy hours, while urgent issues do not receive any attention.
Berkeley Heights is facing serious issues with our schools, and we need serious people on the school board to address them.
For example, our district desperately needs to:
Next year our current set of school bonds will mature. We will have the opportunity to roll them over to secure millions of dollars for much needed renovations and improvements across our district's schools.
We need to break the Board out of its current state of general dysfunction.
If elected, I will work with Dr. Feltre and the other Board members to secure a new round of funding for the district, and see that it is implemented to serve the best interests of our community.
Together, we can make a difference
